One of my favorite and slowly becoming the most important piece during a retreat is shutting off technology. While most resorts have wifi, you can let go of the constant pull to text, tweet, check facebook or call friends. It feels good to unplug and recharge. Instead, you will plug into nature as she takes you back into yourself, helping you really feel the earth around you and, in turn, your place in it. Nature inspires you in ways man-made things cannot. Being outside for an extended period of time can really change your energy, and allows a space to feel gratitude for the even the smallest of things.
Make new like-minded friendships
Last but not least, a yoga retreat joins like-minded people open to share their journeys and learning about yours. Practicing yoga and meditating together for several days creates a foundation for friendship hard to find in our busy daily lives.
